Well, it took several calls to Adelphia and they blew us off more than once, but finally the cable repair guy came today and fixed our high-speed internet.
WOO-HOO!!!
And it seems to be bigger and better. He ran a direct line from the outside (bypassing the home-made splitter that our landlord had cobbled together from chewing gum and aliminun foil) so our signal strength is better, the noise is less, and speed even seems to be increased... though that might just be the reaction to returning to high-speed from dial-up land.
