Origami for Peace?

It is an election-season stunt, but it sure is an interesting one! In Thailand, the President who is up for reelection has called upon the Thai people to fold millions of paper birds to be dropped on the southern Muslim region as a gesture to show that the Buddhist north wants peace. The president asked all of his 63 million subjects to fold at least one, and it is estimated that 120 million were dropped from air force planes! Reaction is mixed in the south where the common folk are touched by the gesture, but political leaders note that it really doesn't change anything.
