Surprising poll results that show an even greater backlash against homosexuality then I think most would have expected.
When asked whether they thought same-sex "marriages" should be recognized by the law as valid and come with the same rights as traditional marriages, 68 percent of the respondents in the CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll said they should not. That's convincing growth. And even more shocking,
Twenty-eight percent said same-sex "marriages" should be valid and 4 percent had no opinion....
A similar poll by Gallup last year found that 55 percent thought homosexual "marriages" should not be valid, while 42 percent said they should be recognized.
When asked whether they favored a constitutional amendment that would define marriage as "between a man and a woman," 57 percent said yes, while 37 percent were opposed. Those are considerable numbers that show a large shift away from supporting same-sex marriage. I continue to blame the radical-most elements of the gay lobby for forcing the issue through the courts instead of through the hearts. Americans are stubborn people and they don't like to be forced into accepting something.
Last year, 48 percent favored the amendment and 46 percent opposed it.
The Backlash Continues
