R.I.P.: Pope John Paul II

The Pope has passed away. Our prayers are with the 1.2 billion Catholics worldwide for comfort in their time of loss, and wisdom in the choosing of a new pontiff. Apparently, it is not a simple process. Essentially, there are 9 days of mourning (burial will take place between days 4 and 6) and then afterward the cardinals will cloister themselves until a new pope is chosen. When white smoke comes out of Saint Peter's basilica, we'll know a choice has been made.
