A friend of Mod-Blog - Partial Recall - claims to have found a real free iBook deal. He has recieved the free iBook, and unlike the other "freebie" deals you see all over the place, you do not have to sign up 6 friends in an ever-increasing pyramid scheme. You just have to buy some other stuff, though you have to be careful not to wind up spending more on the "stuff" than you would have on an iBook.
