I haven't tried this, but it sounds like it could work. Note: Always be careful when microwaving water as it can become superheated. Superheated water has the potential to explode, causing injury.

As Wedge notes, these tips should be used with EXTREME care. You are going to wind up with boiling or superheated water, and if you're not careful, you WILL wind up burned.
And , you'd actually have to have lemons in your refrigerator.
Why do cleaning instructions always picture a woman unpolluting the item? How many women let their appliances go that long without cleaning? They should picture a couple of college guys cleaning out their microwave before their mother comes for parent weekend....
