I've seen these Red stars popping up on houses lately. Does anyone know what they mean? I've seen them in Pennsylvania and Connecticut so far.

Does anyone know what this Red Star Means?

I'm getting Communism / Socialism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_star) or Macy's (http://www.macys.com/). Odd that they both have a red star as their symbol. Of course, a tavern in Illinois also came up.
All I think of when I see it is a Russian Star from the communism days. But I know someone from my church who has it on their house. I don't know them well enough to ask them about it though.
okay, and the better answer appears to be an Amish sign of good luck that has become a popular piece of folk art (http://www.topix.com/forum/state/pa/TV7DRP2EF8FDLSSQ4) - though someone also said it has to do with an offshoot of the masons.
I still like my Communism idea. We're probably almost at another era of McCarthyism
(but for terrorism instead of Communism) anyway. :-)
lol...You guys are a little paranoid. =) They're called barn stars and they come in many colors and sizes. They're very popular in rural areas, and many have the stars and stripes on them too. There are a number of stores within ten minutes of here (And there aren't many stores that close) that sell dozens of varieties.
It's been an odd past few days for me with working hard on the new product. Lots of 4 to 5 AM nights. Probably why I particularly found humor on the Communism theory.
Thanks for dropping some knowledge Ward.
I miss Ward, Muse and baby already.
