I mentioned on Twitter yesterday that there were reports of the Asus Eeepc Netbook at BestBuy for $299, and a lot of Mod-Bloggers seemed interested. So, I thought they'd be interested to hear that we saw it today at Target for the same price. Might be a good inexpensive laptop for light use.

Yes, the famous eeepc is at Target. I have been using the original eeepc (with a slightly smaller screen, although mine also has webcam) for nearly one year. I originally bought it primarily for web browsing and light use, but it eventually became my primary laptop. My son and daughter (college students) use them daily for taking notes in class.
The linux distribution on the eeepc is easy to use, and the included open office suite is perfect for most purposes. Those unfamiliar with linux will discover that it is (particularly with the easy-mode shell on this model) exceptionally user friendly.
It's a great machine. But don't just take my word for it, google eeepc and look at the hundreds of sites dedicated to this umpc (ultramobile pc).
