I love the idea of eBook readers, but they're all so expensive. Enter the Kindle 2. A spectacular piece of equipment released today, but at $359 I could buy a netbook that could do almost the same thing and more.

I have a Kindle (1.0) and have to say that it is a great device. I don't think the expense here is the critical value (although I still think you should get credit toward your first Kindle book, so you can start reading right away). This is not targeted at school kids, but at professionals - especially traveling professionals. If cost is the major object, no eBook can beat paper. But if space is the major consideration, then this is a great device. I can now store a whole bookcase's worth of books in a space smaller than one hardcover.
The killer new feature here may be the "Read To Me" feature that will automatically turn regular books into audiobooks. I could see that being a game-changer for those who want to read at home, listen in the car, and then read some more on the plane.
