The news broke late last week that the sad case of Terry Shiavo had taken another turn for the worse. No doubt in hopes of being lost in the weekend news cycle, especially with hurricane Jeanne bearing down on Florida, the Florida Supreme Court announced that they were overturning "Terry's Law" whichy gave Jeb Bush the power to force Mrs. Shiavo's hospital to keep up life support, against the wishes of her husband (and in line with the wishes of her parents). And "life support" means feeding her - Terry is capable of breathing on her own, and responds to external stimuli, despite a diagnosis of "persistent vegatative state." I know some Mod-Blog readers may have missed the news on Friday, so I wanted to repost it today.
Keep an eye on this one. If it goes the way I think it will, this may become the only issue in Florida for the presidential election.
