Mt. St. Helens Getting Worse

Earlier this week, we reported that Mount Saint Helens - the volcano that erupted in 1986 - was making a little noise again. Well, since then thing have gotten much, much worse. There were over 1000 earthquakes there in a single day, and the lava dome is visibly rising. Earlier scientists expected a little burp of steam to be the end of this. Now, there is the possibility of a full-scale eruption. Nothing compared to the explosion of my youth, but still a pretty big deal which may require evaculations all around. So a volcano advisory has been issued and residents may want to plan on spending the weekend elsewhere.

Hal Lindsey also has up a crackpot analysis of the increased activity of hurricanes, volcanoes, and the like this year. It is nice to know in a day and age when everything is moving at the speed of light, that there are still doomsday prophets ready to walk the streets with their old timey posterboards that say "The End of the World is Nigh!"
