Wondering Why Your Company Cut Off Internet Access?

Salary.Com just released a new study which shows that the most popular form of wasting time at work is... drum roll, please... surfing the internet! The average worker allegedly spends as much as 2.09 hours a day surfing the net. Not including time spent online during lunch or before starting official hours. This is NOT good. It is likely to cause many employers to cut access to the internet altogether, which would mean no access to online references, no ability to e-mail family when you are working late, and no ability to really fritter away useless time at work when working weekends or holidays, and waiting for the next thing to happen in a long series of steps.

If you do surf from work, you may wish to explore a device like the Stealthsurfer which is a USB drive that redirects all internet-related files onto the drive itself and encrypts communications. This way private communication remains private. Please note, this should in no way be used to access inappropriate sites, as your boss still has two eyes in his/her head and it is likely to appear at the worst possible times.
