While true, there is a fundamental difference. If I follow you around everywhere, read your e-mail, etc. I'm spying on you. If you freely post it online, then I'm not. Perhaps someone puts 99% of their life online, but has 1% that they don't want anyone knowing about. That is their right to privacy. They can choose how private they want to be rather than the government choosing for them.
