Obama's Father's Day Speech

In yet another example of how I want to like Obama, he gave a Father's Day message speaking out to men to take more responsibility and be fathers, not just men who have fathered children. I wish his views, especially on abortion, weren't so liberal. It has been said that the problem with the inner city is not poverty, but fatherlessness. If he could bring about a revolution of men taking responsibility and being fathers to their children, that would, in my opinion, do more for our country and our economy than any stimulus plan ever could.

When Bill Cosby said the same thing, he was highly criticized by the press and balck activists. When B. Obama says it, it is a good idea.
Why the difference?

The difference is time to absorb and assimilate. The majority of the community has come around on Bill Cosby.

The speech was quite good until the end... when he outlined a very "progressive" government funded program to "help" fathers stick around. Why must it always end in bigger government Barack? I could totally vote for you if these things ended in empowerment and incentives that weren't government programs!
