My first car was a 1969 Pontiac (GTO). It was so sweet!
And I do love Nomad's Vibe.
I will miss the braqnd.
Also read today that the Corvette is going. Who could have ever thought THAT would happen?
I always liked the Grand Prix. It was a fun brand. Why is it that Buick managed to survive and Pontiac had to die - talk about a useless brand.
I agree about Pontiac being a fun brand. Almost made my first owned car a Pontiac Grand Am, but reliability wise, opted for a Toyota instead. (The year I was looking at had a problem with head gaskets.)
The fact that Buick lives and Pontiac and Saturn die proves GM cares not at all about the American market. Just China, where Buick is the luxury brand of choice.
Which, of course, raises the question. If GM cares not about the American market, why is the American taxpayer bailing them out again and again?
Can you tell I am cynical about this?
I would go buy the pontiac G8 right now... if I didn't have kids. It is an amazing mussel car that is fuel efficient, appointed like a BMW, and priced like a Suzuki.
PS. I still like Buick. The enclave is a sweet ride.
