very subversive, and difficult to fight. This is not a Charlten Heston type situation where you can hold a rifle over your head and proclaim "from my cold dead hands!" This is a slow strangling nit-picking attack that has a much better chance of working.

Atheists and Christian attackers should be proud of what they have done here... and then remember the book of Esther. I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side against God's chosen people.

Esther 3:16 ...If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him.

I have a feeling this has more to do with the feelings of a particular official and that once this goes to court it will be dropped pretty fast - as it will cost the city more to fight it than they will get from the actual permit.

What about what the cost to the family? The lawyer and court costs is a type of blackmail and oppression in itself.

Well stated, BH. This is a bad idea from start to finish. A wedge that could be used to de facto ban any activity by forcing people to expensively defend their rights. And targeting the religious meeting in a private home is especially troubling.
