Lutheran Pastor Removed - NOT For the Reason Reported

This story is getting a lot of play around the mainstream media today. A lutheran pastor was removed from her pastorate at the local church. Why? Well, the media reports and the church affected reports that the action was taken because she is a practicing lesbian. But what was the actual reason?

Pacifica Synod Bishop Murray Finck said the Central City mission violated the church's constitution when it installed Pastor Jenny Mason in April because Mason is not on the church's official roster of recognized pastors.

So, a church denomination exercises its right to require churches under its authority use approved clergy. And suddenly it is a civil rights issue comparable to Rosa Parks. And this for a church that allows the ordination and pastoring of men and women who are gay. Simply not those who are not celibate.
